Participants age 70 ½ who are 5% owners must begin to receive payments by April 1 of the calendar year following the year in which the employee reaches age 70 ½. Payments subsequent to the initial payment must be made by December 31 each year thereafter.

December 15 is the last day to provide the Summary Annual Report for the previous year if the company sponsoring the plan received an extension for filing federal corporate income tax. A summary annual report must be automatically distributed to plan participants within two months after the filing date for Form 5500. December 15 marks two months after the Form 5500 automatic due date extension to October 15.
